![]() ![]() ![]() Microsoft Photos seems to display the image with colors that are a bit more vivid than XnView MP. In any case, thanks again - both responses really are appreciated. When I told Microsoft Photos to 'View actual size' on an image, and then told XnView MP to show the 'Real size' for the same file, they actually showed them at different zoom levels. I took a look at Gonvisor, too, but it's really a comic reader and doesn't seem to have a browser view. The slideshow functionality feels like it's trying to be Powerpoint, one of my least favorite programs in the world. Another minor issue is that there's a keyboard shortcut for toggling file info display when viewing files normally, but in slideshow mode you have to choose either on or off from that pre-slideshow menu, no toggling allowed. Ideally I would have liked something as fast and easy as ACDSee where I select files and folders and hit slideshow, with no menus in between, but it looks like this is the best I'm going to get. So I guess that's not happening any time soon. In the normal way with such things, a search for this issue turned up one request on their forum, from 2020, for duplicating this functionality in MP, and one guy seconding the request a year and a half later. In MP it's more of a production through the Add Folder menu. I switched to MP and that doesn't freeze, but when you highlight folders and start a slideshow it just ignores those folders, while Classic would grab the images and subfolders, which is what I was looking for. I tried XnView Classic first, and it worked more like what I want, but it froze up and hung a few times in a fairly short test session. ![]() I figured out how to disable the tabs, and adjust some other things it's a pretty good fit, but. After spending more time with it this weekend it's the best fit I can find. XnView was one of the programs I tried briefly, but didn't click right away. I'd rather not have to add images to a database. A browser pane that handles renaming, copying and moving files, and selecting files & folders.Keyboard shortcuts to move forward and back. ACDSee used to be able to do slideshows on selected files as well as folders, which would be ideal. Slideshow with random sort option, and options to include photos from subfolders, and/or multiple selected folders.Full screen, with option to hide/show file info (filename, at a minimum), preferably with a keyboard shortcut. And I don't think it can handle multiple folder select at all. FastStone Image Viewer is very nearly what I'm looking for, but it doesn't handle multiple folders/subfolders the way I'd like - it can only include subfolders by running a slideshow in one folder at a time and then moving to the next one, instead of putting all the images from all the subfolders in one big group and randomizing that. I'd like something similar to view images and run slideshows. I was using ACDSee 2.32 for a very long time, but it recently stopped working, hanging in folder view while processing files. ![]()
